Automated ticket triage

Every ticket classified, prioritised, and routed before a human sees it.

Triage is the first step in every support workflow — and the most time-consuming when done manually. TicketResolve AI classifies every incoming ticket by type, urgency, and complexity in milliseconds, routes it to the right queue, and resolves the ones it can handle automatically.

What automated ticket triage actually does

Manual triage means an agent reads every incoming ticket, decides what type it is, assigns it a priority, and routes it to the right team or queue. In a high-volume support operation, this can consume 20–30% of agent time before any actual support work begins. Automated triage uses AI to perform these classification and routing decisions in milliseconds — at any volume, without human involvement.

The triage pipeline

What happens in the first 500 milliseconds

01

Intent classification

The AI reads the ticket subject and body and classifies it by intent: password reset, billing query, bug report, feature request, how-to question, complaint, or custom categories you define.

02

Priority scoring

The AI assigns a priority score based on urgency signals in the ticket — words like 'urgent', 'down', 'can't access', 'data loss' — and customer tier if your helpdesk exposes that data.

03

Complexity assessment

The AI determines whether the ticket is resolvable from your knowledge base (Level 1) or requires human expertise (Level 2+). This drives the routing decision.

04

Routing

Level 1 tickets route to the resolution engine. Level 2+ tickets route to the appropriate human queue with classification context already attached — so agents don't need to re-read and re-classify.

05

Resolution or handoff

Resolvable tickets are handled automatically. Escalated tickets arrive in the human queue with intent, priority, and complexity already classified — reducing agent triage time to near zero.

Classification categories

What the AI classifies

By intent

  • Account & access requests
  • Billing & payment queries
  • Product how-to questions
  • Bug reports & errors
  • Feature requests
  • Complaints & escalations
  • Status & information requests

By urgency

  • Critical (service down, data loss)
  • High (blocking workflow)
  • Medium (degraded experience)
  • Low (informational, non-blocking)
  • Custom urgency rules

By complexity

  • Level 1 (documented, automatable)
  • Level 2 (product-specific, human required)
  • Level 3 (engineering escalation)
  • Ambiguous (human review required)

Triage and resolution

Triage is the first step. Resolution is the goal.

Many AI tools stop at triage — they classify and route tickets but leave the resolution to human agents. TicketResolve AI uses triage as the entry point to a full resolution pipeline. Tickets that can be resolved automatically are handled end-to-end. Tickets that need human attention arrive in the queue pre-classified, pre-prioritised, and with full context — so agents spend their time resolving, not reading and sorting.
